By default, FileMaker does not confirm a record has been deleted to the user. That is a time saver in some instances and a possible source of confusion in other instances. In some situations, you may want to confirm to a user that runs a delete record script, that the delete was successful.

In particular, this isn’t a bad idea when FileMaker is being accessed via a web browser, like when utilized with FileMaker Instant Web Publishing.

In some of the ways FileMaker works with other sources (like XML), you might need to tell that source that the delete was successful.
