A term that is given when one computer receives information from another computer either via the internet, intranet, network or sneaker net.

Besides the obvious connection that FileMaker design takes place on a computer and download is a computer term, there are other aspects of download I’d like to discuss. It is possible to setup what we call FileMaker robots. These are FileMaker workstations that perform scripts after traditional business hours. One of the many uses for a FileMaker robot is to download files from a source, import them into a solution, process the data, perform any other related actions on that data (like outgoing e-mails) and then report on what it did.
