When you have a layout or form that has a plethora of data fields, you will likely want to organize those fields into groupings that have a unified objective. The most classic example is address information in which you will likely have a company name, contact first name, contact last name, street, street 2, city, state, zip and country fields. When you organize the fields on a layout or form based upon their purpose, you are create a subset of the data for presentation.
Here you can see a grouping of address data. Now this is done on a presentation layout but could also be organized this this on a developer layout. The need to see groups of information may also be helpful in scripting or other advanced development tasks. ADVERTISEMENT ==================
