A noise answer is usually found in multiple choice exams and is an answer that just doesn’t make any sense. The framing of the answer may be in such a way as to appear to have some validity but is a deception presented by the course content creator. Although not a FileMaker term directly, a noise answer is always something you may encounter on a certification exam of any sort. My inclusion of this term is based upon doing some course study for my PMP. There are many test preparation resources out there for the PMP. These include trial tests and most will identify what test questions are noise within the answer key.
So anytime you take a certification exam, you are encouraged to identify noise answers quickly and disregard them.
