Work Breakdown Structure

CATEGORY: Project Management
CLASS: Structures

There are a number of descriptions for the term of work breakdown structure and I’ll try to come up with the meaning that strikes home with me. The Work Breakdown Structure is a document that details the total work for project deliverables with defined descending layers of granularity better defining the work above it. The process of defining a work activity and then breaking that work down into smaller definitions helps give you both “top down” and “bottom up” views of the overall work to be performed.

This isn't a true WBS but close in concept.
